Our Story

Hello, my name is Bob Sands and I am the founder of Indiana Painting.  I am a fourth generation painter.  As a kid of 13, I used to travel throughout Texas painting Phillips 66 gas stations with by dad and grandfather.  What an amazing time we had traveling from town to town reviving these filling stations whith the bright shinny white bodies with the classic red stripe.  Painting has been in our family and is being passed down to my sons too.  Painting is in our DNA and we love it!

In January of 2003, I set out to start something different and formed Indiana Commercial Coatings.  The construction industry seemed to revolve around conflict and adversarial relationships.  I loved the painting trade but dreaded the way the trades and general contractors were always at odds.  There was a better way.  I wanted our company to work with the general contractor and owner as a team of professionals working together to meet the end goal.  I wanted the trades to work in excellence with the other trades and the project owners, not in conflict.  We now do this every day by listening to your goals and your concerns and creating a team to meet those goals on budget and on your schedule.

In January of 2005, we changed our name to The Indiana Painting Company in an effort to widen our net from commercial only to include the residential market.  Our focus still remains in the commercial painting markets, but we not serve a limited area of residential customers.
